Super Dad!

Over the past three weeks I have seen a super dad emerge from Andy. I always knew he would be an involved and loving dad, but I did not anticipate how instantaneous the transformation would be! From the first minutes of life Andy was holding Evan, changing diapers, and handling him with such ease. Here are some pictures taken over the past three weeks (can't believe it!) of dad and tiny son.

Evan has had quite the stream of visitors since he arrived at home...here's just a few pictures of some of his first guests (the lucky ones who got documented):

Evan's birth day - in a nutshell

So last Friday started normally enough...cold, rainy and just an appointment for a routine checkup at 8am. It was the due date, but nothing was happening yet. It didn't take long at the appointment, however, for the doctor to make the call to send Ginny to the hospital - she had been showing signs of preeclampsia for a little while, and on this day her blood pressure was elevated.

Since it was the due date and all, we found ourselves off for an induction...

He's Here!!

We are excited to introduce Evan Andrew Schmidt! Evan joined the world at 6:40pm on 2/1/08 – right on his due date.

He was a whopping 9 pounds 0 ounces, and measured 21 inches. Ginny and Evan are both doing well, and we are so grateful for our healthy baby boy.
