Final adventures...

We were thrilled to spend time with Aunt Teeny
on our trip. We ate lunch together then spent time
at the zoo! I spent lots of time at the zoo growing
up, so it was special to be there again...and now with
my child! We loved catching up with Teeny and seeing
all of the animals.
Here's Evan with Teeny.
Later that afternoon my cousin Taylor came over with
her two kids, Jay and Caroline. Caroline and Evan are
about two weeks apart in age. It was fun to see them
together and be with Taylor too.
They had a blast.

We had such a great time catching up
with friends and family on our first road trip!

Birmingham or Bust!

After such fun adventures with the Potoshnicks we
continued our journey to Birmingham. We had
a wonderful time staying with my grandparents and
spending time together.

Here is Granddaddy having the first "girlfriend talk" with
Evan. All of the sons, grandsons and great grandsons
have experienced this talk! Evan at this point
seems more interested in the napkin than the wisdom
passed down from generations.
Grandmother playing with Evan.
Evan fell in love with Granddaddy.
Could not keep his eyes off of him.
Here he is cuddling and listening to stories of animals that
Grandmother and Granddaddy
have seen in their travels.
More Grandmother and Evan.
We had such a special time together!

Portraits in the Park

On Friday evening of our trip we walked
down to Coolidge Park and took advantage of the
opportunity for family pictures. Evan was already tired by
this time, but here are some of our shots. Thanks P&N!
Here's Evan playing airplane with Andy.
Andy and I walked miles over the walking bridge
in our college days!

Stay tuned for more...

Road Trip II

One night while the guys were doing a presentation for
the Business Club at Covenant, Nicole and I had the
opportunity to go out for dinner and coffee after
the babies had gone to bed (Thanks Liz!).
Here we are all decked out with makeup and everything
about to go enjoy Chattanooga.
More babies! We think that Noah is explaining
something to Evan. We are not sure yet what.
We did lots of hanging out at the house and
take note of Andy... and his glass...
Not to worry, Andy has not taken to drinking
mid morning... this is none other than...
you guessed it, "Crystal Light Green Tea and Raspberry mix"
aka: Liquid Crack.
We had some time to goof off too...
Who doesn't love a self portrait picture?

Road Trip!

We returned on Tuesday from our first family Road trip.
We headed for Chattanooga to meet up with our friends
the Potoshnicks. We had such a fun time sharing a house
in the North Shore area of Chattanooga.

Here we are stopping overnight to break up the drive.
Evan getting comfortable at the hotel.
Babies babies everywhere!
We spent lots of time playing with these guys.
This was our view.
Lots of round little heads!
You would not believe what it takes to get a picture of three
8-9 month olds all looking at the camera simultaneously!
But... we got it! "If at first you don't succeed... try try again"
A highlight of the trip was a visit from dear Ellen
(you must watch the video and try to keep a straight face...
impossible for even the keenest of poker players!) who drove
up with her guys for a visit. Here we are vastly outnumbered
at the park. Again... amazing to have this many people
all happy at the same time! It was such fun to catch up
and be mommies together (I was a freshman in high school
and Ellen a Sophomore in high school when we first met...
we've come a long way!).
Stay tuned for more about our adventures.

Liquid Crack

My mother in law, Evan's spunky Grandma
is a drug dealer (Hi Margie!). I know it seems unlikely
that this good citizen would push hard core crack
to a new mother, but its true. You see,
we were at the beach in July when this innocent seeming lady
introduced me to Crystal Light Raspberry Green Tea.
It didn't sound that great initially but she
said... "try it". So I did. And proceeded to
drink glass after glass during the trip.
After that trip I bought some at the store,
but forgot that I had it. Until two days ago.
I have consumed 24 ounces (meant to say 3 pitchers!) of this
stuff in the past two days! I looked through
the ingredients expecting to see the words
"crack-cocaine" clearly printed on
the label... but couldn't find it anywhere.
The thing is, I have no idea why it is so good.
When I first tasted it, it was nice, but not GREAT!
But I just can't stop drinking it... which
leads me to the logical conclusion that it does in fact contain
crack and my mother in law, Evan's spunky Grandma is
a drug dealer. Case in point.
