"New oom"
The transition has been successfully made to Evan's
"new oom". It has been a huge hit as he has lots of
room to play and some cars. That is about all
he needs in life. Maybe some cheese too, but that
takes care of it for Evan!
Here are a few pictures of his room and
him in it.

Wrestle mania!
Here's a few minutes of wrestle mania caught on film.
This is a staple of our evenings. When Andy is out of
town, Evan stores up his need for wrestling for an all
out session.

After one such wrestle session!

Around the house
Here are a few shots from Friday around
our house. We didn't do anything especially
thrilling, but it was just a great little old day.
Love when it looks like this outside!

Sploosh...
This weekend Andy and I went to Lake Lure for some R&R
before #2 arrives. It was a perfect weekend. There was
not a cloud in the sky all weekend and it was so peaceful
staying on the lake. The fall colors were quite vibrant
and it was just a fabulous weekend.
We took pictures with reckless abandon...
but in the last hour of our stay at the lake,
we took a canoe out on the water...and sploosh...
out went our camera! At the bottom of Lake Lure
sits all the evidence of our great weekend!
Too bad because I was excited to post some
non-Evan pictures for once. You will just have to
imagine the great views and my hair nicely
fixed all weekend. I know... hard
to picture! What a fun time away...

Too cute...
A few months ago my friend Andrea launched
a new business... Touch of Gray Designs.
We brainstormed and came up with these
ADORABLE shirts! She makes all sorts of
great bags, key fobs, shirts, and other fun items.
Well, it may sound too good to be true...but...
she is offering free shipping in November and
I wanted to let my friends know! Now is the time
to get hooked on Touch of Gray Designs!
Here's the website... check it out!

Boo!
We had a fun Halloween over here.
Me and little Schmidt dressed up!
This doubles as my 28 week picture.

Andy getting the Monkey ready...
Ta da! Couldn't get a still shot of him,
but how fun to see him running around the house
playing... completely indifferent to his monkey suit!

First Haircut...sortof
This weekend I decided I would shape up Evan's hair.
He has grown the most precious curls, and I
am quite attached. They bounce behind him as he walks...
do I have to say more?
Attached.
I have been thinking lately that he needs a little trim,
and I have planned exactly how I would do it for months.
Attached.
So, I did it this weekend... and to my complete horror
(remember attached?)
the curls were gone. There were some nice little waves
in their place, and Evan is as cute as ever...
but the curls (sniff) are (sniff sniff) gone (sob!).
I still have hope they will grow back when his hair gets
a bit longer, but we'll see. I am adjusting I'm glad to say.
So, after a few days to recover, I decided the confidence
of a good professional haircut is what I need right now.
So... here we go! Here is Evan before his cut...
(Seriously, I only trimmed like 1/2 of an inch! It looks
like a ton more, but I have the proof in a plastic baggie).
Attached...I know.
Here he is sitting in his police car, drugged by Dora.

He loved sitting in the car.
Here he is after his cut. These folks have it down,
they know how to make toddlers stay still! He
looks so cute and I am loving his new look.
As you can see, I am adjusting well. :)

It was a typical Friday...
...and then we went to the Lazy 5 Ranch!
Oh my goodness... where to even begin.
We went to hang out with our good buddies Janelle
and JT. We wanted to do something new and exciting...
so, we headed up to the Lazy 5 Ranch in Mooresville...aka Africa.
It was wild! Truly... There were all kinds of animals,
everywhere roaming free. You can take a wagon ride
(trust us, just take the wagon ride)
and feed the animals... or you can drive through.
I should have suspected driving through may not be the
best course of action when we saw multiple "Enter at
your own risk" signs. Still feeling adventurous...
we did. And were "welcomed" by swarms of animals
half of which I have no idea of the name.
It went something like this:
Janelle trying to stay cool while the antelope/deer? said hello.

Hello! Excuse me and Hello!
Though we did not have food, the animals did not get the memo
and treated us as if we did. Here is what that looks like.
Hello wildlife!
Yes, that is at least two llamas, a deer like animal, pig, goat
and goose in this one picture.
PS: I hate llamas.

Janelle was totally committed to making this an
educational experience-teaching is in her blood.
So as I sat and laughed until tears were streaming
down my face...she kept her cool and
said, "boys, do you see the llama?"

It was hysterical and totally worth it for the laughs...
however I would recommend waiting until your children
are 8 and taking the wagon. Lesson learned.
